Just on the average. Because our treadmill is sort of a ‘manual’ treadmill and I can’t measure my speed or the distance I have covered.
I am 5 feet in height and I weigh 120 pounds. How much weight should I lose?
It all depends on your incline (if any), and the speed your going. You should also keep your BPM (beats per minute) at the same rate for about 20 minutes this will help the calories burn faster. Maybe you should get a pedometer too. As for your last question you are 5 feet and 120…I don’t think you need to lose any weight, check out your BMI and if it’s in a healthy zone don’t focus on losing weight just focus on maintaining it. Good Luck!

The owners manual of my Horizon Treadmill states the following:
EVERY 6 MONTHS OR 150 MILES
It is necessary to lubricate your treadmill running deck every six months
or 150 miles to maintain optimal performance of your treadmill. Once the
treadmill reaches 150 miles, the console will prompt you to lubricate the
treadmill. Only use lubricant provided by Horizon Fitness!
• Turn of the treadmil with the on/off switch, then unplug the
power cord at the wall outlet.
• Loosen both the rear roller bolts. (For best results, place two removable
marks on both sides of the frame and note roller position). Once
the belt is loosened, take the bottle of lubricant and apply it to the
entire top surface of the running deck. Tighten both rear roller bolts
(matching up the marks for proper position) to original position. After
you have applied lubricant, plug in the power cord, insert the safety
key, start the treadmill and walk on the belt for two minutes to spread
the lubricant.
Silicone Spray; it does a great job. Get it at any hardware store or Wal Mart. Just lift up the tread mill belt enough to get the spray nozzel under it and spray the rollers. No need to take it all apart. I do mine all the time.

I want to burn as much fat as I can in ask little time as possible. Which is better, stationary bike or treadmill?
The treadmill burns more calories but it is bad for your joint and you can easily cause pain. The bike is good. Be sure you keep your heart in a fat burning zone. Most of the exercise equipment has a chart on it to tell you what heart rate you need to be at. Also at the gym they have a cycling class called Spin. This is an awsome class the instructory usually keep it pumped up with music and other excitment and they tell you how to get the best workout on the bike. You sit and stand and change the resistince. I did this three times a week and watched what I ate all summer and lost 27 pounds. I also have really good leg strenth. I like the bike much better than the treadmill.

Also whats a great website for me to order a treadmill?
do not do that. treadmills are hard and bad for your legs and can cause injuries easily. its better to run on pavement outside then run on a treadmill. but is suggest running on grass or light surfaces. treadmills are also expensive and running outside is free. outisde you get to see nature and the warm weather of the summer. while inside you get to stare at a blank wall. what do you think sounds better?: paying 1000s of dollars to run inside stare at a wall and get injuries or run outside for free with nice weather and get less injuries and have your feet less sore???? you choose

Everytime, I start running on the treadmill after not running for awhile, I get this horrible stinging in my legs that itches and burns. Today, I actually had to get off the treadmill. I am assuming it is a circulation issue. Does anyone ever experience this? I asked my doc about it and he said not to worry.
Its not a circulation issue, its a back issue, chances are your quads are becoming too strong compared to your back/abs/hams, and that’s throwing your back & hips out of alignment.
The issue then is nerves coming from your back and down your legs. even if your feeling the pain in your calf/foot, its probably starting in your back.
My suggestion is to go to a chiropractor and get an adjustment, also take a rest from running for a couple days and instead cross train, like swim bike or use an ellipticle.

I just want to lose a few pounds, and I’m gonna start running, on a treadmill, then after a few weeks, I’ll start on trails and other places and time my self. Is this any good?
I’m a Freshie, and I just want to more running sports, like cross country or track and field.
Yes. That makes sense to me. Do what you enjoy the most so that exercise is not a boring chore.
I would encourage you to mix things up a bit and use variety to keep exercise interesting. When the weather is nice take a long walk outside.
As you get fit you may want to add tennis, bike riding, swimming, jumping rope, hiking, kayaking and anything else to keep you moving. Don’t let your workout be boring. Good luck!

I am using a treadmill for training for long distance runs. How accurate is the speed per mile and distance as shown on the treadmill. Does your stride affect the actual distance or speed you are going? I use high quality treadmills at the gym but my Nike Plus sensor shows a much slower pace for me and therefore less distance traveled. Appreciate any comments from runners or those very knowledgeble with treadmills.
use 1% incline and the actual run time and distance will be much closer to if you were running a track.

I want to buy either a treadmill or a glider to exercise on and I am not sure what one I want more. The treadmill I have heard is worse for your joints, plus I don’t really like to run on them (not yet anyway) and the gilders seems like it would work good, but I can’t fold it up and put it away like I can a treadmill.
So what is better for exercise and getting into shape and just all around?
Thank you!
I highly recommend Schwinn 230 Recumbent Exercise Bike
As a long time bicycle rider it has been extremely discouraging for me not to be able to ride as a result of a surgical procedure. This type of recumbant stationary exercise bike is the perfect answer to that problem. Year round use and the ability to rapidly change programs to fit my exercise needs is great. Not only that but I am actually using my weight bench in that it sets 10 feet away and I am already in a frame of mind for a workout.
I bought it with free shipping from…

Hope you like it too. Good Luck!

I’m a 20 year old female thats 5′7” 160 lbs. All the fat is around my waist(love handles and tummy). I am planning on taking summer courses in my college for june and july and want to lose 30 lbs then. I have hypothyroid so it is difficult to lose weight but I feel like if I don’t lose it now I will just get bigger. I can’t eat red meat and I want to actually feel full when I eat. I signed up for 14 meals a week. Please give me advice on a good meal and exercise plan for me. Thanks!
Become a vegetarian and visit the athletic center three times a week. Lay off the sweet stuff, go easy on the carbs. Choose whole grains and brown rice, you know, eat smarter, be more active basically.

I have a typical pear shape and it is very difficult to lose weight without looking sickly up top. But I’ve been on a diet to lose some extra pounds, and already have lost a ton, but my lower half is still so huge in comparison to my upper half. Are there any good exercises that will target my butt and thigh areas in particular?
I was overweight all throughout high school, and couldn’t really pinpoint what the problem was. I tried to eat right. I tried to exercise at least 3 days per week. I tried to limit my calorie intake. None of this seemed to produce any noticeable results. Well, it’s been four years since high school, and I’ve just recently found a program that I have successfully lost 55 pounds with! Sound impossible? Think again… they guarantee your success, and if you follow the program, I do too. They offer helpful tips right on there front page! Here’s the link:
